That's a celtic tattoo! For some reason it looks like there's a celtic symbol on roman armour... a bit of a culture clash there.
It's as if "beneath the surface" the wearer of this tattoo is actually a tough, brave Celtic Warrior!

Cream is a girl, so she is forgiven her ignorance, but you guys ought to know that buckles does not instantly mean a Roman armour. And if we for some reason say that this is a roman armour, it is not such a clash, Varangian. As Celtic mercenaries fought for the Romans.

For me it's less the buckle and more the metal strips at the shoulders. I may be ignorant but I don't recall any armor besides Roman that had those like that.
