So every week, I shop at a local Indian market and I usually always purchase Halal Gyro meat (they have an array of foods from other cultures too, none of which are typically found in the US). I was trying to explain what that meant to someone recently, which led to looking up the difference between Halal and Kosher practices (yes, my life is just that boring). www.differencebetween.net/miscellaneous/difference-between-kosher-and-halal/Anyone else find it odd that they are talking about Islam and Jewish traditions...yet the picture they choose is of pizza?

Pizza is a food of all cultures. It just happened to have originated in Italy.
Surprisingly, though, pizza is a food that you can practically find worldwide. Pizza Hut actually serves cheeseburger crust pizzas in the Middle East, but doesn't in the United States.

Yes, but Kosher law also states that meat and dairy cannot be mixed...which it clearly is on that particular pizza.

Amusingly enough, Pizza was created as a way of getting rid of left overs before they went bad. It was never intended to get as famous as it has

I believe lobsters were also considered the poor fisherman's food. They were easy to catch, there was an abundance of them, and easily boiled. Poor people make great food

Because the wealthy people found out they tasted good Fun fact- Colonists would catch 400lb+ lobsters off the east coast. Because they are similar to goldfish in that they will keep growing indefinitely
